Ma J. (2016) Sporidesmiella guangdongensis and S. jiangxiensis spp. nov. on dead branches from southern China. – Sydowia 68: 113–118.

Sporidesmiella guangdongensis, sp. nov., and S. jiangxiensis, sp. nov., are described and illustrated from specimens collected on dead branches of unidentified plants in southern China. Sporidesmiella guangdongensis is characterized by its percurrently extending conidiogenous cells that produce cylindrical to subcylindrical, 23.5–30 × 3.5–4.5 µm conidia with 2 distosepta. Sporidesmiella jiangxiensis is easily distinguished by its percurrently extending conidiogenous cells that produce clavate to cuneiform, 12–17 × 4.5–6.5 µm, smooth conidia with 1 distoseptum. The new species are compared with similar taxa.
