Annual Report Vol. 55, 2016
ISSN 0429-8926
The “Fundberichte aus Österreich” have now been enhanced by the inclusion of historic buildings analyses for the first time. The new volume includes not only the customary annual report of the Department of Archaeology, but also two articles: “Reports about historic buildings analyses” introduces a new rubric, while “From the field to the data base” discusses the importance of surface finds as a data source for the heritage service. The “chronicle” section is divided by federal region as before, but historic buildings reports now follow the longer papers about archaeological excavations and finds complexes, reports about archaeological interventions and finds of portable antiquities.
The E-book of the volume includes extra material to the annual report and to the article “From the field to the data base”, the papers from a seminar organised by the Department of Archaeology and three monographic works about Altenburg Abbey, mollusc finds and animal bone. Last but not least, the long versions of the intervention reports are also included.
